Why another GTA 6 site
There are a lot of countdowns. What there is not much of is somewhere that tells you how confident to be in what it is showing you. The interesting problem is not gathering the news, it is grading it — so that is what this site is built around.
One person, one handle, one inbox
One person: Archie. Not a masthead, not a team, not a network of content sites — an independent developer who built this and maintains it. Archie is a handle rather than a legal name, used consistently everywhere this site appears.
That matters because of what this site does. It publishes an exact release instant as fact, and it grades other people's claims about an unreleased game as credible or not. Every one of those judgements is made by the same person, by hand — the language model that helps run the pipeline cannot publish anything, and nothing reaches a public page without being approved first. So there is one name to attach to a mistake, and one address to send it to.
privacy@coquina.app reaches a monitored inbox. It is the right address for a correction, a privacy request, a source we have got wrong, or a question about how something here was decided.
What you will not find here is a claimed background — no press credentials, no industry contacts, no insider access. Nobody outside Rockstar has played this game, and this site has no more special knowledge of it than anybody else. What it has is a method, applied consistently and shown in full, which is the only thing it asks to be judged on.

Every rumour shows its working
A claim on the rumour tracker carries the source it came from, a verbatim quote from that source supporting it, a confidence rating, and a dated history of every change to it. If we rate something "low" in September and it turns out true in October, both entries stay visible. History is never quietly edited — the trail is the point of the feature, and a trail you can rewrite is worth nothing.
No AI-written articles. Anywhere.
A language model does help run this site: it sorts incoming items by source type, spots when two outlets are covering the same story, and pulls candidate claims out of articles for review. It is never permitted to write anything you read, and it is never permitted to state something its source did not. Where a field is missing from a source, it must return nothing rather than fill the gap.
Every claim it extracts lands in a review queue and waits for a human before it can appear on the site. Nothing reaches a public page automatically.
Nothing here is Rockstar's
No artwork, no logos, no marketing copy, no fonts. The build fails if a Rockstar CDN address so much as appears in the codebase. Headlines link out to the source rather than reproducing it. Video thumbnails are hotlinked unmodified from YouTube and always link to the video itself. The look of the site is an original design system built for it.
Seven guide pages that admit they are empty
The guide pages are published before they have content, and each one says plainly that it is empty and when it will fill. Nobody outside Rockstar has played this game, so a "GTA 6 cheat codes" page with codes on it today would be fabricated — and there are plenty of those already.
What is here now
- A live countdown to the global unlock, and an embeddable version for your own site or server.
- News, aggregated from Rockstar's official channel and the gaming press, each item labelled by source type and linked out.
- The rumour tracker, with the full audit trail on every claim.
- Local unlock times for 68 countries across 23 pages, including the ones where the unlock lands on the previous day.
- Guide pages for launch day, honest about being empty until then.
How it pays for itself
As of August 2026 this site is in no affiliate programme and earns nothing at all. Eventually: affiliate links on the buying guide, ads on the guide pages, and never anything on the countdown, which stays permanently ad-free. When that changes, the disclosure page names the programmes, and any page carrying such a link says so above the fold.
Corrections
If something here is wrong, that is a bug and we want to fix it. Email privacy@coquina.app — the same address is on the privacy page for data requests. Corrections to the rumour tracker are made in the open: the old entry stays visible with the change dated beside it, because a trail you can quietly rewrite is worth nothing.
